  • Provide bibliographic and curriculum support, inter-institutional cooperation, information sharing, and advocacy related to the field of women’s and gender studies and to gender-focused scholarship in the traditional disciplines
  • From a base on the Madison campus, the GWS Librarian reaches out to the 13 baccalaureate universities, the 13 freshman-sophomore colleges, and the UW Extension
  • In addition to System outreach, the Librarian supervises GWSL Office staff, manages all Office operations, including the production of publications, provides reference and instructional services, and selects for the Memorial Library collection in the Social Sciences areas related to gender and women’s studies
  • Responsible for three publications (Feminist CollectionsFeminist Periodicals, and New Books on Women, Gender and Feminism) and one database (WAVE: Women’s Audiovisuals in English)  that are regularly produced by the office

  • Developed Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program at Carroll from the ground up, including educating faculty and staff; recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating SI Leaders for all sections of selected courses; marketing the program; public relations; managing annual budget; assessing the program and reporting results to campus constituents. In four years as Director of the SI Program:
    • Attendance at SI sessions increased by 6%
    • Program increased from 2 classes (6 sections) to 7 classes (14 sections)
    • Number of SI Leaders doubled
    • Grades of D and F and Withdrawals from the course of SI participants held to half of that of students who did not attend SI sessions
